Just bought a CD. German Wind Soloists. Mozart Serenade No.10. "Gran Partita". 8 Mvts.
Scored for
2 Oboe,
2 Clarinet,
2 Basset-horn
4 French Horn
2 Bassoon
1Double Bass.
Thought you might like to know about it.
Wish there was more clarinet in it. But I'm gonna look up the score (all Mozart scores are now copyright free) on the net and (hopefully) play along

It's a wonderful piece of music. I don't know that particular recording but have heard many other performances live & on radio & CD.

I have also played in it 3 or 4 times on contra bassoon instead of using double bass - great fun but a very tiring 45 minutes or so especially the Romance (Adagio 3rd mvt) which is a killer for 2nd bsn & contra in unison being quiet & legato without a break.

This work is utterly beguiling. I recently wrote a review of it on my classical music reviews and resources blog - you can find it by going to http://aneverymanforhimself.wordpress.com/2009/01/29/3-mozart-serenade-no-10-gran-partita/
