Help! Have been trying to remember a song from the 80's that was on the radio. The only information I have is that it had a couple of notes from either a bassoon or contabassoon every so often. I can't remember the melody or anything. I think I would recognize the title if someone could remind me what popular songs were on the radio in the 80's. Believe it or not, this has been eating at me for years. I finally decided I was not going to remember on my own and needed to ask for help.

Puppet on a String? May have been earlier than the 80s though.

There was a song by Renaissance called 'Northern Lights' that has bits of bassoon playing in counterpoint with the bass at points. However, I think it was late 70s, so probably not the one you're after.
