Hello everyone,
I just started to learn the bassoon, and apparently, I need help;;
I attached my seat strap to the little hole at the bottom, metal joint. (Sorry, don't know the exact name for it)
However, it seems to be bothering the very bottom key to open/close, so my Bb and A sound the same -- unless i move the strap aside.
In distress, I asked my friend bassoonist in school, and she pointed out that my bassoon may be weird because the hole to attach the seat strap is located farther from my body... meaning, the little hole is on the RIGHT if you look from the playing position. (Hope I'm making sense!)
She said there is a way to possibly take off that bottom part and flip it around, but when we tried to take that part off, it was too hard...
So, my question would be the following:
Is it possible to take that part off somehow and flip it around, or is that unnecessary?
If there is a way to put on a seat strap without bothering that key, would someone please inform me?
Thank you!
