So, I am going to be starting bassoon next month. :D
I was wondering if anyone had some advice and tips, especially since the key system seems so...daunting.
Oh, and I also play fife, trombone, trumpet, euphonium, cornet, baritone, guitar, bass, piano, and drums.

First thing - find a teacher. This will make it much easier to to get to grips with this strange & wonderful beast especially as you have had no previous experience with a reed instrument.

2nd - Good luck!

Things i have learned from teaching myself this instrument: long tones re a superb idea to start your practice session. start at h=the powest note (Bb) and work your way up the scale chromatically. also this guy's videos help so much: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wHySZdY4zDE
