i have a question..
(ignore my horrable english...)
does a bassoon or a contrabassoon have a transposition? (if it is not a real word, i hope you got my point.. its like trumpets are in Bb and alto flute is in F...)
so if there is, on what note is it?

Hi Jules,
Bassoon is a C major instrument, meaning if the conductor says to the orchestra, play an A, the bassoon plays an A. However sometimes the bassoon plays in Tenor Clef, but that is not tranposition, its a change in clef.
