Hello trumpet players I`m a seventh year player who just bought a Stradivarius last summer; frequently, for the past few months, some of the valves, especially the first two are sticking. I`ve oiled them many times over and it still sticks frequently; absurdingly at the worst times, but only once or twice while at a tutor, meh
Now how I oil them is I wipe the old oil off using the case`s internal cover (in the Strad`s case) then apply some Bach valve oil over pretty much the entire valve and the valve cases. I do play with parallel fingers, not diagonally
...know any solutions that I missed? Thanks.

soak the trumpet, clean out the casings and valves. Dont put alot of valve oil. What kind of oil is it, synthetics and water based oils dont mix. Uh, if they still stick the problem could possibly be valve alignment. I find out more for ya later.

Take out the valves soak them in warm water wipe them clean and oil them. Pour warm water into the valve tubes and open the bottom of the valve tube and pass a cloth through it, wipe them dry. Hope this helps you. I have been playing my instrument for 6 Months.

Take your horn in for a chem clean. After they clean it, wipe a petroleum grease (like vaseline) on the valves. Then wipe it off. Make sure you wipe it off, or they will be slow for a while. The light coating of grease that is left will fill in any small holes or imperfections on the surface and give a softer surface for the valve to slide on when oiled. Finally, re-oil the valve and put them straight back in the horn, without twisting them on insertion. Bach trumpets are notorious for poor valves, and they require frequent cleaning. I reccomend taking them out every 2 to 3 weeks and completely wiping them off, wiping out the valve casing, and greasing, wiping, and oiling them. Good luck.
