I have been lucky enough to be offered and audition with a jazz local band . I need a suggestion for what to play for them. I have been playing for two years.

Well i would suggest a song that is vibrant and colourful, but easy so that you can learn it and play it with authority. Look for a song called "spain" I really like it it has a catchy melody and i can still remeber it from my Gr 8 year. hope that helps

I`d suggest you go to www.trumpetherald.com and ask. This site is dominated by many, many young trumpeters where and as far as I can tell, no one with a great deal of experience. Check out trumpetherald - much more solid information.

Cheers!

You are right about there being alot of trumpet players around here. Especially I notice alot of rude remarks and dumb comments, but I have also learned alittle from the younger crowds. I will check out www.trumpetherald.com ASAP! Thansk!

Cornetplayer,

No problem. TH.com is a great reference source. It`s not without its own quirks but you have a lot of really great people and players browsing the forum a LOT. It`s much more popular.

Another one to try out is Trumpet Corner which is Bach`s trumpet board. It`s a "dear abby" setting where you ask Dr. Siever`s (prof of U. of Oklahoma - Great player and nice guy) and can depend on good, useful information. It`s at:

Cheers!
