I am a sophomore in high school and I realized recently that I will have to start thinking about college soon. I am seriously considering majoring in trumpet performance, and my instructor is encouraging me to do so, also. I heard, though, that it is hard to get jobs. Is this true? Also, I have heard of many people who decide to major in music but then switch after a year because it was so difficult. Why would majoring in music be so difficult? Just wondering...

it depends on how good you are and who you can get in contact with if you want jobs. it can be rough man...
