im just curious, will taking up flute stuff up my trumpet playing? i still want to play trumpet as my major instrument but hav also wanted to learn flute so i thought of learning it just for fun..

blowing on the trumpet and blowing on the flute are two very different things. To make a sound on the trumpet you must buzz your lips. this is very different however with the flute. Think of it this way, when you pick up the flute forget everything you know about the trumpet. When you pick up the trumpet forget everything you know about the flute. I hope this helps.

Since the embouchure is pretty different, I think it`s rather easier that way, and with practice you`ll learn to change your playing when you switch instruments every time.
