alright so who`s tired of people asking how to play high? i`m going to attempt to stop the questions...
buy a colin`s lip flexibilities/lip slurs advanced method book. do lip slurs out of that for about twenty minutes a day for a week. just keep doing the first two maybe three etudes over and over. and then once your range is up to a high g go to the near back of the book and do the exercises on expanding your range to a b c d e f g. do them one at a time until you`ve gotten each one perfect and strong. than you will be able to play high notes. once you`ve done that go back towards the middle of the book and do the lip trills. all this takes about a month for more inexperinced players and it will strengthen and make better of already good players. now quit asking how to play high and why your endurance sucks please.

The bottom line, whether the subject is hitting high notes, reading music, dynamics, technique, or whatever, is that there is no SECRET. The key to success as a musician, regardless of instrument or music style, is PRACTICE and raising the bar of acheivement goals a little at a time.

you got that right but people need to learn how to practice properly which is what this post was for... workin range/endurance/flexibility properly. because most people will thin kthat practice means pull out your horn and start trying to play high notes that they can`t reach and then they end up hurting themselves.

long is playing a note at about a metzoforte and then holding it as long as you can keeping the pitch steady and the tone unchanging until you start to quiver because you are out of air. it will help endurance and your tone a lot to do long tones. the lip flexibilities will help with things such as lip trilling(it teaches you how to in the colin book) but you`ld be amazed at how much lip slurs and long tones will help you after just one week. and how much longer and higher you can play if you get a proper warm-up. you will be much more impressive if you do a warm-up properly. a warm-up should only take about 7 and a half to ten minutes. probably closer to 7 though. try warming up and then playing the fun stuff and not only will you sound better but you will have more fun playing
