I have a bump under my top lip from trumpet playing, does anyone else have it or know how to get rid of it, it is so annoying! I had it since like 7th grade!

well you got the bump by pushing the mouthpiece to hard into your face. what you need to do is lip slurs and pedal tones and long tones and nothing else for at least 5 days and then you might get rid of the bump but you really need to stop pushing the trumpet into your face. that`s how people blow out their lip for good or also how you get scratches and scars on your lip that won`t go away. that is also the reason that maynard ferguson has a really pinchy bad tone... he pushed for too long and now it has damaged his lips for good

Go see a doctor, who`ll refer u to a specialist. I have a friend who had a similar problem on the inside of his lip and it impacted on his playing enough for him to lose a bit of form. he`s had it removed since, and everything is fine. and if u are getting bruised lips that`s a sign of too much pressure, a bump on the inside is not necessarily a result of pressure.
