This week I saw some show on musical instruments and they showed a musician from Slovenia who invented a mouthpiece called DIT.

This DIT mouthpiece had a switch that controls air flow and so High notes can be played easily by anyone. I could not understand the science behind this mouthpiece.

So I did internet searches for information but I can`t find anything. Did anyone hear of such a mouthpiece, maybe I got the name wrong. I want to find out more about this???????

Thanxs

I didn`t see the segment you mention, but trumpet players should beware of anything that claims to serve as a shortcut to the high notes. I started playing in 1955, and as far as I am concerned the key to maximizing your range range is a combination of practice disciplines and finding the best mouthpiece for your particular embouchure.
