anyone know of ways to extend your range besides lip slurs, and once your range is improved how do you develope tone in the double high octave and pedal octave.

A dedicated practice routine, gradually working your way up the higher registers develops the strength and flexibility of the embouchure, which in turn increases the range. There are no shortcuts.

i see what everyone is saying and, i understand that practice makes perfect, but does anyone have any tricks because i`ve only been playing seriously for about 3 years and i can barely hit a high C on a good day. so any tips would be helpful.

don`t work on your range too much if you`ve only been playing for 3 months... work on learning the instrument first. i kow plenty of pros that can only play up to a c above the staff but they get lots of money and lots of jobs. work on learning scales tounging and slurring and learning notes before you do much else. otherwise your tone could and most likely would suck for all your life and you could easily hurt yourself. don`t get ahead of yourself

I recommend BE(bALANCED eMBOUCHURE). It`s a system developed by Jeff Smiley that gradually changes your embouchure into a more balanced one that helps increase range, endurance, tone etc...
