I don`t know why everyone is so preocuppied with range, I have a double C in my range but I almost never use it, their is no need to use double C half the time, al you really need is a strong G, though it is cool and i DO know someone who can hit a quad F, he is a freak of nature, the next maynard i swear.

I`m not trying to beat all of your examples, but I just think everyone needs to check Cat Anderson out (lead high trumpet for Duke Ellington Orchestra). You can hear him hit pretty high if you check out the Duke Ellington Happy Birthday Set (try listening to Jam with Sam). I have just always respected this guy, because he was way before any of the modern high blasters.

Really, gang. I think this subject has become somewhat like beating the proverbial dead horse. The "one-upmanship" will apparently never end, to no one`s gain, so why pursue it any further.

It circling round to the "Oh I`m so modest and can only reach..hmm a tripple f and so on.."
Honestly guys, my teacher ban barely get into the doubles- and she`s a professional. It`s very disappointing to think that people can gain self satisfaction by falsely boasting about something they don`t have-and know it. Get over it. Not having a super duper range doesnt`t make you a bad player-infact- it`s generally those who tend to focus on "music" rather than individual notes which if you ask me, is the reason i chose to play an instrument to begin with.
