It takes alot of time and air to play above the A comforitably, if you just be patient and do Long Tones, you will be hiting it all the time.
(make shure NOT to use up your lips)

I passed music high school year ago. On hollidays a stop playing trumpet. And after hollidays I started practising. For two weeks I played very well. after this time I had the same problem. (A day before I get C-3 well) The solution is realy be patient but do not stop practising. Follow this advice: limit playing but do not stop playing per day. Long notes, (I do not know how to say it well) LIPS LEGATTO. Now passed month and a half. A tone C-3 is richable for me, and playable quite offen. Dont give up :D
