Hey...im currently a sophmore playing the trumpet and im really involved in the music program at our school. Next year, i am looking to be drum major of the marching band. I did try out last year only to fall because my audition peice was to easy..... I didnt see a conducter forum and since trumpet is my primary instrument...i was wondering if any of you guys could help me out with one hell of a try out peice so i can rock there sox off....preferably a downloadable song so that i can burn it onto a CD and play it during the audition......

go get a recording of santa clara vanguard playing the phantom of the opera medley and direct to that... it`s really freakin` awesome... you can probably download it somewhere,but if not, you can subscribe to dci.org and buy a recording of it for like 3 dollars...

Hey i was drum major at my high school 2 years ago, I tried out using the Indiana Jones theme. Its pretty tough b/c the time is hard to hear in the middle. its long and its hard but if youre as good as you say you shouldnt have any trouble with it. Remember focal point! make sure your beat one is in exactly the same place too. im majoring in music ed right now, with a minor in conducting. let me know if you need any help!
