We have a night parade next weekend.. not the 18ht... and i am looking for some nice ideas for the night parade to `pimp` out my trumpet.
any ideas

well it will most likely be cold so i suggest you get a plastic mouthpiece no matter how much overtones it takes away... at least you won`t hurt your lips.

When I was in high school band, disciplines in effect included wearing the entire uniform or none at all, and the only "decorations" allowed on instruments were the school emblem banners on herald trumpets. There were no plastic mouthpieces, and freezing weather didn`t keep us out of parades or off the field at halftime during football season. Also, I marched in mnumerous parades where the parade routes were several miles long, not just a dozen blocks or so. Not meaning to be critical, but it seems to me that overall, band kids nowadays have it pretty soft.

well no offense but 20 years ago bands didn`t stress good sound... just loud volume.

long ago, bands had petter pitch and were more in tune than today`s bands.

take a small string of xmas lights with a battery pack and wrap them around your horn. As for a plastic mouthpiece, I`ve been doing xmas parades for 25 yrs now up here in Ontario and we never use plastic mouthpieces
