Been playing on a good Bach for about 4 years and I`m definitely ready for something better. When money is not issue, what do ya`ll recommend to buy?? I`d love to add some range but I don`t want to cheat, plus, I`ve got good tone and I don`t want to mess it up..

Thanks guys

if you`ve got good tone don`t switch. maybe if you think it could be better you could try out a bigger mouthpiece. no mouthpiece wil give you more range. believe me i`ve tried. work will give you more range.

Like others have said, hitting high notes is not always a question of the mouthpiece. However, the Schilke 14A4a produces good results for those who are after it, and I recommend it.

Like I said, I`m not looking to "cheat" any high notes, if that`s even possible. But of course some mouthpieces allow for easier high notes than others. Keep them coming!

Like I said, Schilke 14A4a

It has a wide throat, and wider throats will produce higher notes easier.

Also, re: "cheating" on high notes: I think what they mean is pressing the instrument so hard against your lips with as much air as possible that you`re seriously strangling and suffocating yourself just to get a squeak out. (I did this when I first started playing - I enjoyed the fact that I could squeak out a double C in 7th grade by this method... though much later I learned how to avoid that.)
