5th octave from what? The best high note people are happy enough with 3 or so octaves.

i think what he means is: octaves on a piano. if you go in octaves from the lowest note on the keyboard five octaves you get to the first c above the treble staff. i am going into 9th grade next year so i know little compared to others but what helps me get up to a high g is scales everyday. do them in octaves, so,you play the Bb concert scale starting on middle c and do the regular scale. but then do it an octave higher up to high c. then do the d major scale( c concert), and so on.

matey i`m at uni in australia,i`m comfi up to the double C obove the staff, 20 yrs old and if i were you i would get on to arbans, and schlossberg execises, but to eep your tone fat you also have to work on your low register at the same time, see if you can get your hands on a expanding scale exercise, to be able to play up there you have to play up there but if you do it in a bad tone than there`s no point , doesn`t matter where you play keep the sound good, play them soft and big but don`t get harsh, can`t stress that enough if you have any quiries email me, cya mate , and good luck Ben
