I have been playing trumpet for four years now I practice every day for at least half a hour but during band class in the last like 20 minutes of an hour and a half class, I can`t play very much at all, my lips basically give out is there any exercises or something I could do to help my endurance. much appreciated.

do you warm-up? I always find that I have to have a warm-up every day or I`m not much good. Even if its just long tones and a few lip slurs. Anything is better than nothing. I would definately do some low (from G down) lips slurs. And always remember to rest as much as you play. Your lips are muscles and you break them down, and they have to have time to re-build, even if its the 15 seconds in between excersises. Hope this helps.

it also depends on how hard you are playing. I agree with warm ups and lip slurs, but if you are blasting, you won`t last long. Learn to pace yourself some and you will be able to play a 4 hour dance some day.
