I`ve heard things about trumpet players being mildly stupid. I am in advanced classes, so I know that isn`t true. For most people. My friend (who is much better than me, but also a year older than me) has straight A`s. Both of us are trumpet players. So where do people get these ideas?

People need someone do make fun of and, sadly, we fine trumpet players are often the subject of harsh ridicule! I know that in the case of the bands im in, the trumpet sections ego far surpasses any other sections, and that also makes us vulnerable. But when you get right down to it, in most cases they are just jealous because trumpet players are typically the coolest people to ever walk the earth. plan and simple.

That`s what I thought. Most of the trumpets in my class are way too egotistical (they play out of turn in the complete silence, leaving our band teacher staring at them). We aren`t really made fun of that much, I was just curious on why we are. But now I know why. Thanks a lot!
