hi,
just want to know if anyone has taught themselves trumpet and what books you recommend if you have. (good trumpets for beginners? books?)
im really interested in teaching myself trumpet. ive always wanted to and now that i have the money to i want to try.

i used the arturo sandoval method book 1. I got into a university orchestra on 3d trumpet after it. It was quite successful obviously and I have only been playing tpt for 3 months.

Well i also taught myself.I also used 2 books called Arbans and Select Duets.The Arban`s wuz for my skill,range,inntonatin,etc an my Selected Duets iz for my sight readin skills.

There are countless books out there. But the most important part is finding a great teacher who can guide you. Otherwise you might find yourself trying to re-invent the wheel. A good teacher is the most important part!
