I`m getting a new trumpet (getzen 900) about 5 days before my state band audition. Would it be ok to play this trumpet in the audition, or does it need to be "broken in" for a while?

it should be fine... just oil the valves and slides well. if you want getzen valves to perform up to full standards oil them every day for 2-3 weeks with blue juice valve oil. after than use la tromba T2 valve oil once a month.

I meant to also say in my last post that the valves should be relatively good after the first oiling and that the getzen would probably be better to play your audition on if it`s between that and a beginner horn.
good choice with the getzen. It`s the same as the 700s except it doesn`t have a hand spun bell so it shouldn`t dent as easily.
