um, I`m not sure how to put this. push your top and bottom lips together and try to push air thru. this will take time to get the hang of. The object is to make a sound like a weedeater or something like that. try to keep you lips from moving out. I think I may know a site that has movies a junk, I`ll post again if I find it.
good luck

yes. two things that i can think of. these may be no brainer to you when you start but when i started these were my two weaknesses. first of all when you are going to buzz your mouthpiece or play at all make sure to have equal amounts of lip in your mouthpiece. so have the same amount of top lip as bottom. and make sure to tighten the sides of your lip and let the center be loose. make sure to also push the air out with your lungs, not your lips. you can get a better tone that way and your notes will be more in tune. 2ndly make sure to tounge correctly. the tip of your tounge should be touching right where your teeth and your top of the mouth(pallete) meet. thats all i can think of and i wish you good luck.

DO NOT buzz. You`re developing uncessary muscles in your mouth for trumpet playing that will cause too much strain in your playing resulting in a "choked" or "pinched" sound.
Instead, HEAR the sound or the pitch that you are going to play. DO NOT use any extra muscle tension or anything extra to achieve the sound. Everything must flow. You`re mind must focus on the musical product ( the sound ). Technique, range, etc. will occur as a RESULT of the musical product, not vice versa.
Arnold Jacobs ( greatest brass player of all time ) said," Playing a musical instrument is 90% mental ( song ), 9% wind ( air ), and 1% physical. Don`t get wrapped up in the 1%.
Hear a great sound in your head, take a deep breath to fuel the sound, and play for pure enjoyment!!!
