Hi, im currently playing in my highschool band and decided to take up soprano trombone. I play trumpet regularly so this is quite a change for me. I noticed that there was discussion on these instruments a while back. Since i'm starting to get into this instrument, I wanted to start the conversation up again. So, feel free to comment or ask any question dealing with the soprano trombone. I would greatly appreciate it as any question you have, I probably have too.

Has anyone heard the piece Terpsichore by Bob Margolis? I'm currently working on playing the trombone choruses two octaves higher than the original trombone parts (middle C). If youre looking into more music for this take a listen, especially in the 2nd and 4th movements. I wrote out some sheet music for one of them. If you want I could upload it.

Both the Bb Trumpet and the Soprano Trombone have the same range. The postion 7 on a trombone is like 123 on a trumpet. The postion 6 on a trombone is like 13 on a trumpet. The postion 5 on a trombone is like 23 on a trumpet. The postion 4 on a trombone is like 3 or 12 on a trumpet. The postion 3 on a trombone is like 1 on a trumpet. The postion 2 on a trombone is like 2 on a trumpet. The postion 1 on a trombone is like 0 (open)on a trumpet.
