Ok so right now i'm using a pretty crappy jupiter student model 600. I am trying to find myself another trumpet. Btw i've been playing for 4 years. First 2 years i had a getzen. Stopped for 2 years and got this jupiter..which was the only brand in stock. So what i've seen best is the Yamaha YTR-4335. That is an intermediate trumpet right? What can you guys tell me about this trumpet? I am in an orchestra so i need a trumpet geared for an orchestra which has a rich sound. Here are the specificationstrumpet is pretty heavy though...well comparing to the jupiter.)

Bore
.460"
Bell
5" yellow brass bell
Pistons
Monel pistons are a primarily nickel and copper alloy
First valve slide thumbhook
Main tuning slide brace
Siver-plated
Advance technology makes Yamaha silver plating among the finest available. The finish produces a soft, rich tone ideal for subtle musical nuances and expression.
Gold brass leadpipe
Gold brass is extremely resistant to wear and corrosion, and when used in a leadpipe, it ensures long-term precision.

I might call another shop on sunday which i've heard has more trumpets. But so far i think this one ain't too bad...but i don't know that much about trumpets. And it costs $1,029 cdn. Do you guys have any other suggestions? I looked at the bach strad 180 series and it is about $2000 and i'm not willing to pay that much.

Go with either a Bach Strad or Yamaha Xeno.
If you can find a really old Benge, that would be nice too.
DOn't use an intermediate trumpet. If you've been playing for 4 years, it's time for a pro horn.
Try wwbw.com
Don't be afraid to order online.
Also, if you wanna find an old horn, try eBay.
In the case of Stradivarius and Benge trumpets, if you can find one from 50's or 60's, they are some of the best horns you can get.
For those two trumpets, thge older the better. The wya to find if tis an old horn is find a chart listing serial numbers and years it was made.
I know Bach has one, I'm not sure about Benge.

The thing is that i'm not really really serious about playing the trumpet. I don't see myself continuing to play after high school. But i'll take a look and see if i can find some good prices on a bach strad.

<Added>

and i'm not a big fan of using USED trumpets. I don't like the thought of playing on the same mouthpiece as someone else and blowing into the same spit they left behind. Would you recommend me buying a brand spanking new strad? I saw one hanging around the music shop sellin for $1825 canadian. Do you think it might be too much of a risk to buy one especially if i might not continue for much longer. I might only have 2 years left playing the trumpet.

i don't think the new stradavarius trumpet are very good, i got a strad off ebay for a very good price it was made in the 80's. if you want a strad go for the 80's or older. also other good trumpets are the king silver flairs or the getzen eterna 700, not the 700sp.

Now that I know you're not really serious about playing, go with a Silver Flair. Great for the money you pay for it.

If you were to get a used horn, you could either buy a new mouthpiece or clean the old one anyway.

Best prices new I've seen is wwbw.com
