calling all marchers!!!!tell me about any of the funny,disguisting,annoying,or memorable moments you've had in marching band.one time at an away game,it was cold and rainy and just flat out miserable.i was climbing up the bleachers,which wre VERY slick,and slipped and ate metal.i took a total face plant!it hurt,bad.i bruised my shins!

hey, i might not be a trumpet, but believe me i have some embarrasing moments! during my schools homecoming, we were laying a song that had a fanfare part noone could play. we were supposed to stop b4 that part came, but i played the whole song thru(thankfully with no mistakes), but they waited till i finished to tell me i wasnt supposed to play!

haha, tell you what. last time i was supposed to join a concert and i was supposed to join in after 8 beats. but when the time came, i was still sitting there starring around. in the end, we have to start the concert again. so embarrasing...

When my school marching band was at band camp,I was coming down the concrete stairs with my bass drum on my back.I was going down the stairs extremely slow cause I didn't want to fall.I fell anyway and when I landed,all you could here through the forest was a big bang.I hurt really badly.My carrier was stuck on my back and it took them about 15 minutes to get it off.I fixed it and got almost down to the playing field.Someone came up to me and asked,"Have you always had a hole in ur drum?"I'm like..."WHAT?!?!?!?!?!"I took off my drum and there was a giant gaping hole in the drum head!!!!I started bawling my eyes out!!!!!!

last year my band did amazonian rainforest and we used blue boxes as props... well we had a saxophone tripi backwards over it then hit with a flag =]

OWIE.... i still sorta hurt from when I fell.Then when we were at an invitational,the field was really,and I mean really,muddy so must of us slipped.I was one of them.My bass drum was heavy 2.rawr....

at Our semi finals competition we had to march on BLACKTOP, and it rained the previos day so i was guiding and i stepped in a puddle and fell

oh yeah,another thing.....we were practicing in the rain (but the woodwinds had put their instruments in the band directors car) one time and i was wearing a pair of slip on tennis shoes,and the feild was REALLY muddy,and one of my shoes came off while i was marking time!i didnt have time to grab it,so i looked like a !****! hopping across the feild on one foot....by the time we were done with the song everyone was laughing but our director let me get my shoe afterwards

heres another good story................................
we had after school practice one day and i had ate something at lunch that didnt agree with my stomach. i wasnt sure what end it was gonna come out,but it was comin out.we had took a break and the feild commander said i looked really pale.i told her i would be fine and i could keep on marching.but when we got out on the feild,i couldnt hold it any longer.so right in the middle of a song,i ended up puking all over the tenor sax player beside me. so i had to leave early,from then on out,i was called"pukey", the tenor sax player is scared to come near me, and i have never ate the school's hamburgers again!

At my school's homecoming the other school did pre-show and 3 saxophones trip and ate grass. The were back marching when it happened it was so funny. And at our first game of the season the bleachers...when you rubbed the dirt off after it rain .....the dirt would be red!?!?

our colorguard hit me in the eye, and i fell... the band directors killed me for falling... Worst performance in years . . . ruined my school's reputation.

we were practicing in the rain once, and it was so cold, my fingers went numb. A few of us bumped into each other, and we dropped our horns. . . well it was a dent fest.

In high school, one of our trumpet players was hit in the horn by a pageantry rifle. The horn hit his face really hard and the poor guy had blood coming out of his mouth and everything. And who said marching band isn't a full-contact sport. ahah

ok last year my marching band did phantom of the opera. our color guard was supposed to "strip on one" if you know what i mean. well our band director yelled it over the loudspeaker to "strip" and our 8th grade trumpeteer turned around and looked at the girl while she was *jokingly* undoing her jacket! no all the guys go up to the guard members and say "1"!

we were marching off of the field except there was a metal pole in the way and i guess one of the tubas players wasnt paying attention as everyone else marched around it because he marched right into it hahha.

theres always the horse poop during parades...and the passing out.

at band camp my freshman year i was rolling down the hill in front of the band room and this kid was like no this is how you do it and another kid wa slike NO THIS IS HOW YOU DO IT and he jumped head first into the hill and broke his collar bone. hahaha.

i got hit with a pole during a show once...nothing serious though.

one marching band rehearsal we were preparing for the cherry blossom parade...doing at least a miles worth of straight horns up laps...in february. there were large spitcicles on the ends of all the flutes.
