Hey i'm a sophomore in high school and been playing for about six years and i have a really hard time playing an A above the staff i can get it out but it's extremely airy, i can squeak out a B or a C once in a while but squeaking isn't really considering playing the note to me anyway, sometimes i play with a downstream and I put most of my mouth piece on my upper lip. I've been told to put some of the pressure to my stomach but it seems to just make it worse and i've been doing lip slurs and long tones to try to build up my embrouchure can anyone help please?

you should be practicing everyday, do you have the clarke book? if you don't get it. it realy helped me with range.

<Added>

i am also a sophomore in high school, been playing for about 4 years. when i was a freshman in high school i could barely get the A just above the staff. that summer i really worked hard because i had to have range up to high C for marching band. what i did was get a private teacher and i practiced efficently EVERYDAY. i did a lot of exersizes from the clarke book, and i still do them. my range is solid up to F above the staff now, all you need to do is work hard at it and be patient, also don't neglect the lower register.
Good Luck :)

if i were you i would keep doing lip slurs everyday. i know this sounds dumb but work on your low notes! the lower you play, and sound good the higher you can get

just remember that none of this advice will work if you don't practice everyday, really a solid A above the staff and beyond just comes with practice, i believe you mentioned you have been playing for six years. if you haven't gotten a good A yet maybe you are doing something wrong, six years is a while, do you have a private trumpet teacher? if you don't i recommend you get one. a good teacher would really help, i don't think your problem can be fixed by people that can't see you on the internet, i don't think my advice or anyone else's will be any good if you don't get a trumpet teacher to help you.

its all about the air man.

it would be great if you could find a good teacher who could help you with using more air the right way.

dont worry about high nots too much though theyll come eventually

but by using more air youll be able to practice longer and hit higher notes

works for me
