I have to audition for a camp in a few weeks and I need to know what a nice piece would be to prepare in a couple of weeks for a junior in high school (range is pedal tones to high c). What would you guys recommend?

The 2nd movement from the Haydn concerto is a great audition piece. It allows you to show lyrical playing and a little range (it goes up to high concert Ab). Another good piece would be the 2nd mvt. of Hummel or Andante et Allegro by Guy Ropartz.

hmmm y n`t find the music to a piece by some of the Jazz/Bebop greats. jus to name a few: Duke Ellington, Charlie Parker, u could even use Big Band favourites such as Benny Goodman, or Glenn Miller. or maybe even find a modern jazz piece. keep in mind th`t these pieces aren`t fit under classical and such category, the`re modern. hope th`t helps ya

I have thee coolest solo for unacompianed trumpet called "I Remember". It is set in the jazz idiom. It covers on the styles of Miles, Louie, Dizzy, and Clifford Brown. It is fairly difficult and it reaches the D above the staff but it is a cool piece none the less. I don`t think you can purchuse it but I could send you the link of where I got it.
