Captain Trump, shut-up.

IF you produce a totally hideous sound on trumpet, it's a benefit to other trumpet platers, because they get to show how awesome they are in comparioson.

That made no sence. By the way, you spelled trumpet player wrong.

And comparison.

You burned me, Shmuck. It's sense, not sence. Oops.

I've seen multiple "X instrument is better than Y instrument b/c of _____" posts.

You guys need to just accept this: Trumpet is (proven to be) one of the most difficult instruments to play.
I'm not saying I don't understand about woodwinds. I do. I've played all of them at one point or another. But seriously, is taking care of a reed that difficult? No. Just way too expensive. You press buttons, a note comes out. Woodwinds go to their thread. Go away.

Trumpets. You have less then 1" to blow into, and pressing either of the three buttons sure as hell doesn't guarantee you anything.

I picked up a flute yesterday. Got like, five notes. Flute players are prolly like "Yeah it's so hard!!"

I'd like to see someone pick up a trumpet and get more than 1 note that doesn't sound like a flatulant (sp?).

Case point: back off woodwinds. We just pwn. Accept it.

p.s. don't get me started on strings.

yea i agree, b/c evey instrument has a hard part and an easy part of it that balances it out, for example the flute has all these buttons and it is hard to blow into it and get a sound while if you play the trumpet and one valve you could get about five different notes. So each instrument is different and unique(sp?) so they're all balenced in diffulcuty(sp?). so noone can brag about the eaisiness of their instrument b/c if u tried to play another instrument for the first time it would be hard for you.

I would think that the french horn would be just as difficult if not more trumpet. They have pretty small mouth pieces, and three buttons. Can't they make more notes with one fingering than we can?

some instruments are easy to pick up. (flute, sax, clarinet)
all instruments are extremely difficult to play well.

i actually picked trumpet up quite easily in terms of playing the correct notes on the page. maybe in a couple days. if you are a musician and have an ear its not that hard to pick up. to play well is another thing entirely.

and dont worry about musicianship, captaintrump...those who want to go on with music will realize everything they need to realize or else fail miserably. for now i just ignore and make friends. = )

<Added>

and ive already paid my respect to the trumpet in a previous post so i dont believe i deserve any negative comments.
