trumpet players brag because they have more techniques than anyother instrument

For example: like how we could go as high as we want to if we practice enough we tend to say i could go this higher than you (but that's mostly when you first start off in elementrey)

oh yeah i forgot if you read the last page it says how a trumpet player likes to show off and stuff. and then a person said "exactly a trumpet is that type of person" and that's what they meant my that type of person

Yeah I definitely agree about the kissing stereotype. As much as some people find it hard to believe, it has to be true. Otherwise there is a lot of dishonest people out there. Haha... other stereotypes, like playing the loudest and not paying any attention to volume markings. Although there are a lot of trumpet players that I know of that pay attention to dynamics and such. Also that they are dumb. I dont agree with that stereotype, but it's what some people say. I kinda like the stereotypes for trumpet. I dont take them offensive, even if they are bad. So I have gained a big ego since I have gotten better. I believe it comes with how good you are. As you get better or soon become the best trumpet in the band (like me) you get an ego. Things just happen. haha I now have a nickname.... and its "Sweet Brandon" because I think i am sweet. Ok so I do. Whats wrong with self confidence??

List of Facts:
1. Our instrument is very hard to play well.
2. The lead trumpet in jazz band is basically the lead of the entire band.
3. We need to be arrogant to pump up the rest of the sections to try to do better than us and also to pump up our own guys.
Happy "Arrogant" Trumpeting!"

Heres my list of facts:
1. all instruments are difficult to play, they all take different skills.
2. saxes in jazz bands are important too. so is bass and drums and...
3. its called 'effortful' (thats not a word, but you know...) arrogant isnt exactally... a great word to use for that there.
thats my 2 cents.
i'll also add i really like trumpets, when played nicely.
same goes for other instruments.
believe me, i've heard pretty bad trumpets, but the good ones make up for them!

1.The trombone is far harder than the trumpet, and has more limitations due to the slide. This leads to many ignorant trumpet players to think they are better than trombone players, when most of the time its the other way around, only the better musician has the harder instrument. (I'm not saying this is true for all trumpeters, but it is a pretty well known opinion.)
2.Not true. The leader of a jazz band can be any 1st. player. I have seen many bands that have saxophone leads and even trombone leads. This belief of yours is another reason so many other instruments don't like you guys. Your so full of yourselves.
3.Are you kidding me? We don't need you to show off on your clearly easier instrument to get some sort of confidence! I could easily overshadow 2 or 3 trumpet players if I wanted to(and possibly 4 or 5 french horn players) but I don't because my instrument isn't meant to do that.

So, my trumpet stereotype is,(and it holds true for you) ignorance.

The main ones I hear are that trumpet players are only concerned with playing high and that trumpet players think they are the only ones that matter in the band ( How many trumpet players does it take to screw in a lightbulb? Just one - he just holds it in the socket as the world revolves around him. lol) My band director told me that in 7th grade and I got ticked off at him but now I just ignore them - some of them are funny.

By the way - everyone find "Why there's no trumpet Christmas". It can be found at this website: http://sssd.k12.ar.us/band/stuff/

A trumpet is an instrument... not a person.

"The best one (and it's been around for many moons) is that trumpet players are the BEST kissers!"

Right...

All I know is that it's really gross when trumpet players leave their trumpets with the opening-thingy (sorry, I don't know what it's called) face-down on the ground and all the spit comes out. Then people who have through where they just were step in spittle.

It's quite gross...
