Hi, I am looking to buy a trumpet; I have been playing for about 3 years now and I am hoping to buy a good quality student trumpet (I do not by any means have the funds to purchase a $1000+ professional trumpet). I have visited my local music store and found two seemingly decent models within my price range (all prices in Canadian dollars):

Blessing B-225M for $399 CAD
Jupiter JUP600ML for $475 CAD

I will definetely play any trumpet before buying it, but I was just wondering if anyone had thoughts/opinions/past experience with any of these models/brands of trumpet that might help me in making my decision. What are some other models in this same price range I should look around for?

Thanks in advance!

The Blessing has been around a very long time and has a history of making pretty good horns for the dollars. If you're rising in your proficiancy and economics is the concern, I'd put my money on the Blessing - perhaps you'll be "blessed".

I played on a blessing student model horn for 4 years, and never had a problem with the instrument. Jupiter, on the other hand, is notorious for making poor quality student trumpets..STAY AWAY. If those are your only two options, def go with the blessing. Probably one of the best and most reliable student tpts out there is the Bach TR300. Good luck.

Definitely Blessing over the Jupiter. You should expand your options, and also when buying one, go with an experienced player. It helps.

Go for a Bach TR300, ebay has some nice ones, ive been playing for about 5 years and got it about 4 months ago..its a really good trumpet for under 500..i got a silver one with a gold trim package, gold bell, slides, valve caps, the whole shibang, for about 450.
