This weekend i played with 2 guitars on stage on a tournament. One of them told me that i have to improvise the next time i`ll play with them. I wanna do that but i can`t improvise on my trumpet! Does someone has some tips to learn improvising?
Thanks

Ok, if you want to learn how to improvise fast, u have to know
some of the chords and chord progressions(sequences) theyr`e playing on the guitars. Then because guitars r C instruments and trumpets are B flat , u gotta convert the chords. After that learn the arpeggios (1st,3rd n 5th notes) of the chords, then play the arpegios of the chords in the chord progression. Then after that, experiment with the notes in the arpegios and find some riffs that sound good. Then ur set.

Wow that was the best advice iv`e evr had. I did evrything u said and learnt in about 4 hours practise and it actually sounds good on the trumpet with guitars.

i want my improvisations to sound structured-not like written or anything, but not crap.
Apparently there`s a set of notes you`re meant to follow....
