Okay, I know this subject has been discussed repeatedly, but I would like to know: Why do you guys hate us so much? Well, I guess you don't hate us, but you don't take us very seriously.
Why?

Although everyone refers to it, I've never seen any section really hate another...I'd say it's more of a rivalry, and, from what I've seen, it is true trumpets and us trombones often have this rivalry between us...

I think this may be explained by the fact we sit side by side in band, that we're the two loudest sections, and that trumpets often have themes in band repertoire (well at least in grade 1 to 2½ pieces), while trombones always get the accompaniement, and rarely have a predominant role like the trumpet. It's mostly the case at the beginning, but animosity remains later even when both sections start having a similar role.

But most importantly I think it has something to do with the personality of trumpet players . I'm not saying they're all the same, but most of the trumpeters my age I know have a little tendency to be quite arrogant and think of themselves as better than others...But don't get me wrong, you trumpeters out there lol, I have a few very good friends who play trumpet, but when we play something almost very nicely, or when they miss something, we don't hesitate to let them know . However this year since we were a bunch of good friends in the back playing trumpet and trombones, and since we were basically the two most solid sections of the band (with the saxophones ), we kind of decided to stop bashing each other and united against the flutes and clarinets haha

Yeah, I suppose that's what it is- rivalry. Well, everyone knows that tbone is God's Gift to All Instruments, and the tpts are just jealous!

Even though the trumpet is the instrument of God and the only instrument mentioned in the bible, trombones aren't that bad. We're all brass instruments; and we should get along fine in spite of the obvious trumpet supriority. My sister plays the trombone; and in my opinion our duets sound exceptional.

You just opened up a dangerous can of worms, buddy. No instrument is superior to another. Each one is needed to make up a good ensemble.

(not you, trumpeter3000) I really don't think that any section really "hates" another. I'm not going to deny the fact that there is a bit of rivalry. However, I don't believe that there is any hatred.
