Since someone brought up the environment.
Let's discuss that for a second. You said brass is better because you are not killing trees?! Oh my Oh my. Someone needs to do a little more research. Do you have any idea how damaging to the environment making a brass instrument is?
It's horrible. Using trees in a managed renewable way is much better than the process of making brass, working brass, and disposing of all the insane chemicals used in the process. Lots of cyanide vapors, inorganic salts, degreasers, etching acids, mined copper ore, minded zinc ore, other alloy metals like Sn, Pb, Fe, Ni, Mn, Si and Al, the process of dezincification. corrosion inhibitors P, As, Sb, Bi. The thousands of gallons of contaminated water.
Egads! I wonder how many of us would go out and buy a new instrument if we really knew how damaging to the environment making a brass instrument is.

Well, I wouldn't say they are the only ones who matter, because you can't have a band or orchestra with just trumpets!
good point, that would suck ineed, it would involve a bunch of senseless !****!s blasting their brains out, and them claiming they're playing music, that would be a joke. Sorry, horn kicks trumpet a$$ ANY day of the week, and that's true. Speaking of the double reeds being the best, I really like the 59th street badge song. It's great, it involves a GREAT bassoon part, and the oboe solo (or clarinet) in it is amazing. Also, like half way through, the bassoon has a solo that has GREAT intonation and tonal quality, I loved it. It was hit, becuase it didn't have the usual half a$$ trumpet player f ing aroung in it.
