I don't know a whole lot about trumpet makes. However, I saved about 800 bucks on my new trombone by checking local classifieds.

Hope that helped. Money wise, anyway.

If you are still in the market for a better trumpet I have a Bach Strad I can sell for about $1500. In excellent condition. A 180/43 ML bore in silver plate.

Let me know if you would like some pics if you are interested.

Try (I mean actually play one) the Giardinelli GTR 812 Pro Series trumpet before spending a lot of money on a Bach,Schilke,Yamaha, etc. The Giardinelli horn has a very focused tone that projects very well.It has a dark, rich and VERY WARM sound. It is very well made in the Czech Republic and has hand lapped stainless steel valves.I played a Bach Stradivarius 180-72S and a Martin Imperial. This horn sounds better than either of those and better than most horns I've heard that cost over $2500.00.I believe this to be the best bargain in a professional trumpet on the market. It has a dark tone like the Martin Commitee trumpet but sounds a lot warmer.Imagine that!

The trouble is of course no one knows the sound YOU want...

and..

there is lods of choice which is both a good and a bad thing.

This is where buying off the internet doesnt work as well as going to a well stocked shop and trying as many as you can in a sensible manner without blowing your lip into meltdown ...

There are SO many good horns these days....hopefully this is a fun thing...and not to annoying or stressful... : )))
