I have a bach model 37 that i played in high school marching band. I havent blown through it in about 8 years. It has quite a few dings and dents including a rather lage one in the bell. Anyway, a co-worker of mine want to buy it from me for his son. Im sure that a new bach strad is way more horn than a beginner needs, but considering the condition of mine, it cant be too much better than a student grade trumpet. So, im just wondering if anyone has an idea as to how much a horn like this is going for these days. I want to give him a fair price for both of us. Sorry about the lengthy post.

Since you haven't played it in 8 years, that means you haven't taken care of it in 8 years... do the valves still work? are any of the slides frozen? if its in good working order (not great) You could ask for about 500...

If I were to sell a trumpet, I would make sure it's in the condition as when you would walk out where it was built. Simply, perfect condition. I like how your co-worker took the initiative to buy a very good trumpet for a beginner. If your not willing to have it fixed for dents, at max clean it and make sure the valves/slides are in playing condition.
