My brother playes trumpet and I was wondering on a good brand name trumpet for him. (Our teacher is letting him use one of his.) I don't want names of good 'beginner' trumpets but somewhat advanced.

Any Suggestions?

How is a Bundy? There is one in the newspaper in very good condition.

I know that with woodwinds, bundy is more of a beggining instrument. Maybe WWBW.com would be a great resource? They seem to have reasonable prices. Be careful with newspapers and ebay!

Can't go wrong with a Bach Stradivarius if hes has been playing for a few years. If he's new to trumpet check out the beginner line of Bach trumpets like the TR600. Yamaha and Getzen are good brands too.

It really depends on your budget, but as other people have mentioned, a Bach Stradivarius, or high-end Yamaha (Xeno for example) should do the trick!

Bach actually have a new line called the Artisan series.

There's a write up about them here: http://brassmusician.com/vincent-bach-artisan-trumpet-collection/

Got a Conn trumpet for $40 dollars. Our teacher says the valves were just in wrong.
