Are most trumpet players male? Are there any famous women jazz trumpeters that I can be inspired by?!

Surely most of them are guys, I have no idea why. But if you try "female trumpeter" +jazz on Google, you`ll bump into a girl and a half, none of them world famous but some of them quite o.k. apparently. Also I heard of a Dutch female trumpet teacher (classical), but I don`t know her name.

That`s is a very good question, and I only see male players.

I once saw a female player on one band and she played better than some males.

Hey Everyone, I`m a female trumpet player and have been playing for 6 years now. It`s been kind of tough being one of only 2 girls, but I`ve been inspired every since day one. I`ve noticed that females are really good at playing trumpet. And even sometimes the best clarinet and flute players are male (personal experiences on both of those). But no matter your gender, I believe that if you practice hard enough and believe in yourself you can be great. So don`t give up! Have a good day. Hezz

I`m a girl and I`ve been playing the trumpet for nearly 7 years. I`m the only girl trumpeter in my high school band but I`m section leader!

I`m a girl and started playing trumpet 3 months ago. I`ve always wanted to play trumpet since junior high, but me dad said I should play s/thing girlie....so I chose flute. After so many years, I still wanted to learn the trumpet, so I went out to the music store and bought meself a trumpet. \(^o^)/

By the way, if anyone is interested in writing music, please let me know. I`m looking for someone to colloborate with me over the internet. I play percussion and guitar. I would like to write and record music. Email me if anyone is interested. Bye for now.

Hey I am 1 of 3 female trumpeters and there are 16 trumpets in my band. I think that it is cool for a girl to play the trumpet. I don`t see why boys think that they can only be good. All of the boys try to challenge me and I am better than all of them (except 1) but I`m getting their. I sit 2nd chair.
Female trumpeters rock.

I too am a female trumpeter and I`ve been playing for 4 years and have already decided to make this the rest of my life. I love the trumpet, I love music in general. Most guys are trumpeters because they`re built for the instrument. Males, naturally, have stronger muscles; therefore resulting in also stronger lip muscles. With strong lip muscles the trumpet is a breeze, of course in a manner of speaking. But I`m female and I`M AN AMAZING TRUMPETER!! I`m going to the top!

Me and this exceptionally hot guy tied for first chair. OMG I think I`ve died and gone to heaven. We constantly hafta correct each other, cuz I have awesome pitch but bad rhythm and he`s vice versa.
