Any kind of school trumpet. Like Blessing brand. That way if you dent it, you wouldn`t have spent that much.

I myself have been very much into marching band ever since my freshamn year of high school, and I would recommend a King Silver Flair. The brighter sound is particularly suited to most marching. However, as I said in another post, if you want a good all purpose marching and concert trumpet, I would recommend the Bach Stradivarius.

Instead of buying a whole trumpet, you should get a new mouthpiece. The mouthpiece in my opinion effects sound more than the instrument.
Try a 3E model.

Strad has a point there. 3E or 3C are probably good choices.

Definitely a Monette. Haha, just kidding. Get an older used horn that plays well. Spend a few hundred bucks. And remember that playing loud doesn`t always mean playing ugly.
