Well I don`t have a problem or need any help..I just wanted to introduce myself. I am a female trumpeter of four years and still going. I play on a Bach Strad (beautiful horn, love the sound) accompanied by a 1c mouthpiece. On a question of how well do I play? Very. Very very well. (Trumpety ego, you feel my pain) Anyway, hi!

Hi,
I`m also a female trumpeter, I`ve been playing the trumpet for four months. I have a King student model (couldn`t afford a Bach Strad), and I use a Schilke #14 mouthpiece (which is equilvalent to Bach 1c) How well do I play? Not well at all, in fact very very poor...

Hi my name is Charlie. I have been playing the trumpet since 6th grade and I am a senior in high school. I play on a king model 601 trumpet. I would like to get a bach strad Lt180 model. I would say I play pretty good. How fast does your lip trills go. Like double and triple tongueing. I can double tongue ok and I am learning triple tongueing a little bit. I can scream a double high C and on occasions a triple D. How high can you go? These trumpet forums rock!!!

Hallo again. Yes I am in high school, I am a sophmore. I can triple tongue and double tongue very well. To be quite honest my best skills lie in technique and tone. I`m not the best range person, but I`ve been known to hit some notes above high C.

Hey y`all. I`m a freshman just learning to play trumpet, and wa looking for a little advice. Nothing in particular, just whatever you think`ll be useful. I play soprano clarinet in marching band at Fowlerville High School, and bass clarinet for the concert season, so music isn`t new to me, just the trumpet. Any advice at all would be helpful!

From reading the forum, it seems like everyone either has a Bach Strad or wants one. Is it really that good? I heard Schilke makes pretty good trumpets too...any comments on that?

I don`t have a Bach Strad, I have a Lafayette something-or-other. Not sure exactly what it is, but it sounds good, or good from my perspective, anyway.

I think Bach and Bach Strads and Schlike are probably the better choice for professional model trumpets. Although I don`t have one yet...I`d like a Bach Strad LT180 model but I play a King 601 trumpet.

I play a King student model. I thought I was the only here playing a King trumpet. Though, I have one problem, my second valve keeps getting stuck. Do you have the same problem?

ON the middle valve problem...I do and don`t...although during parades I used to have an old silver king cornet and it always have valve trouble. I was wondering if any of you have heard of an Asymetrical mouth piece? It takes your sound have an octave higher it says. I want either that or a mega-tone mouth piece. What would you think is better? Anybody?????

I`m told megatones don`t really do anything for your sound, but i play on one anyways because it feels good to play on. I play an old strad and a 1c megatone. It works pretty well for me, I get double c`s sometimes.

i also play on a megatone and can squeak double c`s on occasion. i`ve heard of the asymetric mourthpiece and read the technology behind it. however, i have not played one because none of the music stores near me "believe" in the new things and think they are bad for all around playing and you cant produce good tone in the lower registers with them. john lynch has a really good site about his mp and alot of literature to back up the theory behind it.
~megatone~besides having extra metal around the mouthpiece to enhance the tone and "give it a darker sound" it has an enlargened throat(size 25). i dont think it gives much difference in sound either but it looks kewl and is a good conversational piece. i decided to get one because i had 20 extra bucks. i picked 3c because a 3 rim feels comfortable for me and a c is pretty good for tone.
