Bach Strads are the top of the line professional horn. They are incredible, but require alot more air than ordinary horns. They are definently a good choice if your looking for an upgrade, but the downfall is a new Strad ranges in price from about 2,000 to 2,400 dollars! Sometimes you can find some good deals, but watch out, you just really never know. As far as the Shilkies go..I`m not quite sure about them. I`d advise some research into their product line before making any purchases.

I`m 23 years old. I began by playing the sax in the 5th grade. I switched to trumpet in the 6th grade, then played the french horn through high school. Christmas of the year I graduated, I began playing the trumpet again. It`s been a long frustrating journey, but I`m finally beginning to understand the importance of practicing the fundamentals. My practice time has drastically increased in the recent past, and I`m looking forward to accomplishing long desired goals. Look forward to chattin` with ya`ll furthur.

By the way, Monette`s are the top of the line trumpets. They are the best horn available today. Check `em out...

Well, I am not new to the forum, but seeing as how everyone is sharing... I too play on a Bach strad for symphonic and concert band tunes, but I also have a very unique taylor "phoenix" model trumpet for pep and marching stuff. Look up the taylor phoenix at taylortrumpets.com they own :D.
I swear I am the only one I know who has played carnival of venice (the solo trumpet part accompanied by piano) anyone else played it? No one seems to know it, even though it is one of the coolest songs (because of the double and triple tounging) let me know
