Ok...I just got my braces on, and now i cant play anything!! My stupid tone went down the drain. If i dont find help soon, I`m going to quit band. Is there anything i can do?!?!!?

There are these plastic guards you can put on your braces when you play. I never used them, but they seem to help a lot of people with braces.

I played the trumpet for about three years or so, and when I got them off I was afraid I wouldn`t be able to play. Sure enough it wasn`t long before I was playing with ease.
It may be difficult or unusal playing with your braces at first, but if you practice, it is sure to come. Don`t expect instant results, but once you get used to how your lips have to be and the feeling of it, it will be fine. It is possible, so before you give it up, go a little further. Try working just on basic lip exercises at first. There may be a decline in your tone quality, but it is just temporary.
