Who really cares how high you could get when you first started...I never really cared how high I could squeeze out. I only cared about playing as well as I possibly could. I do consider myself a very good trumpet player, considering I`m a freshman and this is my second year playing trumpet and I am first chair. Like I said struggling to get a really high note is as important as being able to do it with good tone. I just had to give everyone hear my 2 cents. Thank you for taking time to read this.

your absoulutley right, my band director tells me that all the time, without good tone, you dont sound good at all. I always tried to squeeze it out, then i just kept playing on wat i can, and then the high notes just came to me.

You`re right higher notes are not that important BUT I believe that there is a certain ammount of high range that you must reach to play normal good music.

But it will come as you practice well and give it time!
