I bought a trumpet about 15 years ago. It got stored in a basement and it must have been damp so now the case smells musty. Is there anything you can think of in order to get the smell out of it. I sprinkled inside the case with baking soda than vacuumed it out. I also washed the outside of the case but the smell is still there. Outside of ordering a new case I'm not sure what else to do in order to rid the smell.

Fire is the only thing that is 100% guaranteed to cure this problem. Please take the trumpet out of the case before treating it!
