Hey everybody i play sax but was wondering if playing trumpet would mess up your sax embouchure. Some people says it does, but i don`t know who to believe.

Well, it is completely different from sax. I don`t think it uses the same muscles as playing sax does so you might lose endurance from not using the same muscles.

As I understand it, your embouchure would have to adjust to it.
I don`t recommend it unless you only want to play the trumpet henceforth.

Actually, some thing were said that were wrong:
Yes, it doesn`t use the same muscle... playing sax, you get to pull your corner. In trumpet, it it mostly the center of the chop that are used. Many trumpet player dabble on sax or vice-versa... I see no reason why toi learn another instrument... as long as you still pratice your sax... It isn,t bad. At the end, your chops will just be overall developted instead of having good chops for sax but poor for trumpet...
You could rent a trumpet for a couple of month to see own it goes... If you really see a difference with your sax playing, thant you give the horn back... Experimentation is the base of music!
I`d see problem if you play trumpet and want to leran trombone as the embouchure quite require the same muscle but in a different way... As playing oboe for a sax...
Well, in my oppinion it wouldN,t change much... but hte bvest thig is to actually try it... you wont loose your embouchure fr a month of playing turmpet!
