I`m a keen amateur player mostly wind bands, big bands, orchestra. I`ve now a chance to play with an string group and fancy buying either Eb/D or piccolo but which?, I can only buy one.
I`ve been told that moving from Eb/D to Bb can cause pitching difficulties but piccolo can be hard to keep in tune.
Any advice welcome.

I would play Eb/D. Piccs are a pain to keep in tune. That`s my opinion.

Eb/D for sure. More versatile and you will find more reason to use than you would a picc....Happy blowing
