The bit where you tie the strings should be on the side of the 2nd valve slide etc. The right hand side as you hold it.
Both of mine are velcro! Much easier!!

I have one that laces up, I just lace it like I would a pair of shoes. It looks pretty good. You might want to get 2 pieces of the string stuff. One for below the 2nd valve slide and one for above. I think I might just buy one that fastions (sp?) together. It would be easier to get off and on. Well, hope this helps you!

Haha, I know what you mean. I got one for my trumpet and had a time figuring out the best way. Like the other guy mentioned, try the shoelace method. From there, try and tuck the endpieces up inbetween the valves or something. Say, did your leather gaurd leave a black deposit on your trumpet? Mine did and I`m wondering if it`s because I have a silver trumpet or what? Eventually I got it cleaned up but it was annoying.

Yeah, my trumpet had a dark deposit on it. (It is because we have silver trumpets.) The strange looking stuff is tarnish. You can get this off with a product you can buy from Wal-mart. Just buy tarnish remover. It`s like $5. I have to use it around once every couple of months. Hope this helps!

Hmmm, tarnish remover... Well I just cleaned it a lot and got it off. Oh, it eventually should stop rubbing off on your trumpet, mine stopped a long time ago. That`s kinda dumb that it does that though, you`d think that the company would make it not do that...oh well.

Well.... we get tarnish because we have really good horns. It wouldn`t do that if it wasn`t a really great trumpet.

Whoa, watch it Amanda, lol. Don`t go dissing my trumpet. Maybe it was my strong muscles that took off the tarnish and not your wimpy chemical remover junk....jk.
Whatever works!

Luke...... I was NOT "dissin" your trumpet. lol! I was merely stating that I found the "tarnish remover" (not chemical junk, lol) to work much easier.Plus, who said
I didn`t have muscles?!

lol!j/k!one of my friends on the football team nick named me "muscles." lol. (It was only b/c I lasted longer than the other girls at arm wrestling, lol) Well, just wanted to let you know I was not "dissin" your precious trumpet. lol!

I figured out why you thought I was "dissing" your trumpet. I used a double negative in that one sentence. I really was not dissing your trumpet. Hope you have great dreams now that I proved I was not dissing your trumpet. lol!
