Hey im really new at playing the trumpet i switched from the clarinet to the trumpet, Can u give me some pointers on playing the trumpet?

Start by learning the C Chromatic scale, and that will help to get the fingering and sounds together in your mind.

I still use the C chromatic as a relative reference point when I pick up the horn out of the case. It takes about 1 to 2 seconds to play after a while.

Then work on tone, even breathing.

Also get a good brass teacher, they will accelerate your learning.

get a tutor who knows what they are doing. and dont let any one tell you that you have to start on a 3C mouthpiece, start on 7C.

Keep you embousure tight on the corners of your mouth, clarinet is an instrument not requiring as muscles when first learning. Dont push!!!! more air is the answer and a steady air stream. When you get tired you will want to get lazy and push. No, this will create swelling and you will not be able to play more than a few minutes before getting tired. Good Luck?
