I`ve played flute for two years and I have an open hole, closed hole flute and piccolo. My first music teacher played trumpet for years, so I guess flute is harder in breathing. In trumpet, you should be able to hold your breath for at least 52 sec.In flute,we can all usually hold it for 32 seconds, but I held it for 42 sec.Trumpet you can easily learn to cirular breath(holding the breath for a long time and in doing so,taking breaths while still blowing),but for flute it`s pretty much in possible since I`ve heard no record of it.

on trumpet though it`s much harder to play accuratley especially in the higher range. in my opinion flute is the easiest instrument to learn. i am going to be a band major in college so i have to know how to play every instrument so i`m speaking from much experience when i say that trumpet is much harder than flute

well, maybe some instruments are easier than others to begin to play happy birthday or jingle bells, or the scale but this is not music. You play music when you have "the" sound and not "a" sound that go out from the instrument and that you don`t understand.
For exemple in jazz a lot of saxophonist play flute, cause it`s quit egual for their fingers, but they don`t have the sound. They don`t care about it, but when you are flutist you can hear that they don`t have the sound, you can hear they are good musician, bud not good flutist.
And what do you think a pianist hear when you play jingle bells on the keyboard (also it is so easy,no difficulties to produce a sound...)I hope you`re not so proud to say that piano, is the less difficult instrument.
My conclusion is that when it` s bad , it`s bad, bad on a piano or a flute is as bad as on your trumpet. Just maybe the trumpet have a strong amplitude, it`s louder, so more tired.

I have been playing flute for two years now.Ihave also played trumpet, but between the two I would have to say the trumpet is alot esier.Even my band teachers, one of which is the marching band director, say that the trumpet is esier to play.exspecialy with tuning. If you hit a wrong note every one hears it.I think it is harder to tune the really low and really high notes. But trust me the flute is one of the hardest notes to tune, and it is definitely harder to tune and play than the trumpet.
